Cole’s Journey

Cole’s Journey

Submitted by: Misty Edwards, Senior Treasury Analyst On March 15, 2015, Misty Edwards, Senior Treasury Analyst for the TMX Finance Family of Companies, received news that would turn her and her family’s life upside down. She had to hear four of the scariest words no parent ever wants to hear – “Your son has cancer.” Misty had taken her son Cole to the doctor for what she thought was just a cold. However, the doctor immediately sent Cole for testing and that’s when everything changed. “Hearing that your 19-month old son has cancer was beyond anything I could have imagined. Then …

Thankful and Blessed to Beat the Odds

Thankful and Blessed to Beat the Odds

Submitted by: Schelley Roessler, General Manager My name is Schelley Roessler and I’m 38 years old. I’m a wife of 12 years and a proud mom of Callie, 10 and Camden, 9. In August 2010 my life was turned upside down for me and my family. I have always had health problems, but never did I think the worst of it would start at age 29. I had my daughter and son only 14 months apart. I had terrible pregnancies and my doctor thought that having children in a closer year span would help with my endometriosis after having children. However, …

My Experience Volunteering at Operation Kindness

My Experience Volunteering at Operation Kindness

Submitted by: Frankie Tijerina, Product Marketing Manager Life is short. A dog’s life is even shorter. Why not fill it with kindness? For those of you that know me, and my devout love for dogs, it’s probably no surprise that I would jump at the chance to volunteer at an animal shelter. I grew up around dogs and developed a deep passion for these incredible animals. It’s not unusual to see me running down the street to pet a dog. You know that ‘Me When I See Dogs’ meme? Yep – that’s me! And I have no shame. I’m completely …

All of these departments make up just half of the …

Help a Child in Need on Their First Day of School

Help a Child in Need on Their First Day of School

Submitted by: Amira Mccall, Summer Intern The cost for Back-to-School supplies ranges close to $200.00 for high school and middle school students, and those supplies will hopefully make it through the first semester. Most teenagers and parents have plenty of things on their mind other than having enough money to buy school supplies, such as family, bills, and general life problems. Which makes it hard to start the school year off right. Donating school supplies will help take at least one worry away for these students. School supplies are needed all across the nation, starting in August and even year-round, …

Corporate New Hire Program

Corporate New Hire Program

Submitted by: Caitlyn Fahey, Executive Assistant of Shared Services – Dallas On Monday April 16th, I was able to visit one of our TitleMax stores in Carrollton, Texas as part of the New Hire Program to observe store operations. As a corporate employee, I really wanted to see the front-line processes of our organization and learn about the day-to-day store activities. Throughout the visit, I was able to see the customer onboarding process, vehicle appraisals using the ACV tool, payment transactions, and collections activity. But, my biggest takeaway from my experience was the interactions and relationships between customers and store …
