My Experience Volunteering at Operation Kindness

My Experience Volunteering at Operation Kindness

Submitted by: Frankie Tijerina, Product Marketing Manager Life is short. A dog’s life is even shorter. Why not fill it with kindness? For those of you that know me, and my devout love for dogs, it’s probably no surprise that I would jump at the chance to volunteer at an animal shelter. I grew up around dogs and developed a deep passion for these incredible animals. It’s not unusual to see me running down the street to pet a dog. You know that ‘Me When I See Dogs’ meme? Yep – that’s me! And I have no shame. I’m completely …

What I Learned as Your TMX Summer Intern

Submitted by: Amira Mccall, Summer Intern Hello! For those who do not know me, my name is Amira Mccall and I am the summer intern from the City of Savannah’s Summer 500 Program. Throughout my time here, I gained the understanding of how a nation-wide company operates and all the moving parts that make up the TMX Finance Family of Companies. I was able to work with Recruiting “the sellers”, Human Capital “the parents”, Construction “the foundation”, Legal “the problem solvers”, Communications “the community/team member outreach” and Marketing “the advertisers”. All of these departments make up just half of the …

Help a Child in Need on Their First Day of School

Help a Child in Need on Their First Day of School

Submitted by: Amira Mccall, Summer Intern The cost for Back-to-School supplies ranges close to $200.00 for high school and middle school students, and those supplies will hopefully make it through the first semester. Most teenagers and parents have plenty of things on their mind other than having enough money to buy school supplies, such as family, bills, and general life problems. Which makes it hard to start the school year off right. Donating school supplies will help take at least one worry away for these students. School supplies are needed all across the nation, starting in August and even year-round, …

Recovering with Help

Recovering with Help

Submitted By: Brandon Guffee, Lead Business Analyst January 5, 2018 was a normal Friday, much like any other. I was excited to get off work and start another great weekend. January 6, 2018 started out as typical Saturday. My wife and I loaded up our ATVs and headed out for some trail riding. This time we decided to check out a new trail, Rocky Ridge Ranch near Decatur, TX. After a few hours of riding, my wife and I decided we were not enjoying the trail, so we packed up and headed home. At some point between Decatur and Denton, …

Celebrating Family and Freedom

Celebrating Family and Freedom

Submitted by: Shaunna Harris, General Manager July 4th is the time of year when my family always holds our annual family reunion. We have a celebration of all the generations along with a celebration of our freedom in our great country. The food is amazing when everyone is competing to have the best BBQ! The memories we make each year are talked about for years to come (those remember when moments!). It is a day you can feel the love and support of your entire family from being together. The faces of the children as they watch the fireworks are …

A 4th of July Promise

A 4th of July Promise

Submitted by: Janeisha Spruiell, General Manager 2009 was a rough year for me. I am originally from Chicago, but I tell people that I am from Dallas because I have been here for so long. It has always been me and my mom here in Texas while most of my other family are still in Chicago or East St. Louis, and I didn’t visit very often to either place to see them. In March 2009, my mom passed away and my Grandmother passed away soon after. I was heartbroken and distraught. My mother was the only family I had been …

I would have to say my most empowering moment was when I participated in a mock interview for the District Director of Operations position led by Jim Vaughn. It was an experience that I …
