Talent Takeover 2.0!

Last Friday, the Talent Management team gathered for their quarterly meeting in beautiful downtown Savannah, GA to share knowledge, build relationships, and solidify their strategy for taking the Recruiting industry by storm! The theme of the second quarter Talent Takeover event was ‘Georgia on My Mind,’ representing their expansion outward and their commitment to attracting the country’s top talent.

Starting off the day with a moving speech by President Otto Bielss, the team heard first-hand the leadership vision for talent at TMX. As Otto reinforced his passion for the people side of the business, he ignited the drive for continually recruiting the cream of the crop into the TMX family – and the tone was set for a day of learning and aligning our attraction efforts.

The agenda for the day’s trainings was built around recruiter best practices and covered everything from building relationships with candidates to becoming an industry and market expert. Guest speaker Jennifer Zellner from Glassdoor provided an insightful account of ‘What Candidates Want’ in today’s workforce, noting that 38% of current job seekers consider a positive employer brand as the leading factor in deciding on a new career opportunity. In-house data aficionado Ashley Snider gave the team a peek inside our new workforce analytics platform, and everyone enjoyed a panel discussion on the Top Five Reasons to Work for Us, which included exciting updates on the Company’s diversity and succession planning initiatives.

The day was action-packed with all of this plus breakout sessions on establishing routines, presentation tips and tricks, project management brainstorms, communicating appreciation in the workplace, and even a Family Feud face-off! Luckily, the Talent team knows how to work hard and play hard, and the group rallied for an off-site social hour after their full day of learning.

Now, it’s back to work and time to put all this new knowledge into practice! Until next quarter’s event, we’re charging ahead with our Talent Takeover!
