#DefineYourDrive: Helping Others

Submitted by: Omar Bustios, District Director of Operations I am an immigrant from South America whose love for and success in sports earned me a scholarship to come to the United States in my late teens. I fell in love with the American way– met a beautiful person, whom I married, and still live happily with along with my three kids. I am a hard working individual who understands the sacrifice needed at home in order to be successful at work, yet in pursuit of the ultimate goal, which is to be successful at home. I take pride in having …

#DefineYourDrive: Adversity

Submitted by: Dora McCallay McGilvray, Rewards & Recognition Manager  I’m passionate about my family, my heritage, all people, and Texas, but most of all I am passionate about the people I work with and the work I do. I have had the experience of working many different jobs, from a radio disc jockey to a project manager for a construction company. I am always open to expanding my knowledge base and going out of my comfort zone. The only competitiveness that I desire is with my own self and I cheer on the person next to me! I have been …

Recap: Speed Mentoring, Brought to You by Workforce Planning!

Submitted by: Lindsay Gray, Recruiting Area Manager The Speed Mentoring Event on Monday, September 25th was nothing short of uplifting and motivating. Our Workforce Planning Team did an outstanding job of setting up the logistics for this event so that different mentors and mentees within the program “speed mentored” one another, “speed dating” style. This event was set up in our corporate offices in both Savannah, GA and Carrollton, TX. In the first leg of the event, mentees spoke virtually via video chat with mentors in a “speed dating” type of environment. The overall goal was for the mentee to get …

Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month

Submitted by: Abby Bruno, Recruiting Manager  “Helping people is our business.”  These are words we live by every single day here at TMX Finance® Family of Companies.  When a large population of our customers in a market only speak Spanish, that purpose does not change.  As a recruiter for the Texas market, I know first-hand that one of our priorities is making sure that our stores are ready to help ALL of our customers.  We do so by finding great talent that can not only provide a top notch customer experience, but who can do so in Spanish!  This diversity …

School Supplies = Success!

Submitted by: Jamie Lane, Director of Internal Communications  Throughout July and August, we held our first Company-wide Back-to-School Supply Drive. This drive event was just the first of many fundraising opportunities we recently rolled out as part of our new TMX Cares Community Initiatives commitment. Our stores across the country have been holding separate back-to-school supply drives for many years, which is why we decided it was time to bring everyone together at the same time to support our local children, schools, and non-profits in a unified approach. This drive event is an important part of our TMX Cares commitment …
